The Michigan Independent is a bimonthly progressive news and views publication at the University of Michigan. It exists to engage the University and its surrounding community in constructive debate and to inspire activism for positive social change.

Within its pages, the Independent hopes to facilitate a campus-wide dialogue among progressive organizations and other independent-minded students -- a dialogue not often found in campus publications. In previous years the Independent has worked closely with the College Democrats, the F-Word, Students for Choice, the Progressive Alliance and many others.
